"It is said in Martial Arts that when we reach the highest skill levels, it ceases to be a physical practice and transforms into a spiritual practice. For Yoga, the more Asanas I commit to muscle memory, the more present I become and the more I experience the true spiritual side of the Art."

Mindful Movement & Body Mechanics with Julia Cobban
April 4th| Healthy Spine: May 02nd
Workshop is postponed, new date to be confirmed
In these workshops, we will look at ways to build strength and explore a healthy range of flexibility and mobility. We’ll also look at how to maintain stability as we transition through different yoga postures, examine postural habits and tendencies, and utilize tools that help to relieve aches and pains – both in the yoga studio and at home.
Each two-hour session will include some gentle yoga flow to wake the body, targeted yoga exercises (where we will breakdown the biomechanics of the hip, shoulder and spine respectively), and myofascial or “roll & release” techniques using props like tennis balls, blocks and wooden dowels.
What to bring: 2 tennis balls, or yoga therapy balls. We can also provide some, if you don’t have any.
Healthy Shoulders: April 4th | Healthy Spine: May 2nd.
Postponed new dates to be confirmed
Cost: $40 /pers/workshop
Julia believes that movement is medicine, and is dedicated to gaining as much knowledge and experience as she can to share with her students. She has been a teacher and student for over 10 years and has completed advanced teacher training with Yoga Medicine. Training included the anatomy of the hip, shoulder and spine, as well as myofascial release and yoga for athletes.
In Julia’s classes, you’ll find embodied flow, intention and connection. With encouragement and compassion, she guides her students in mindful movement within creative flow sequences. This mindful approach brings a deeper awareness of body and breath, thereby calming and balancing the nervous system and allowing for optimal mental clarity, physical health and wellbeing.
